Ruins and relics

The ease of modern travel has seen the spread of horrible hordes on Cheap&NastyAirlines booze & puke packaged holidays, selfie-stick-equipped narcissists cluttering views and the docile, colour-coded columns sticking rigidly to their schedules. And the herd mentality when overseas seems to bring out a desire in many to reinforce national stereotypes - for example, point me at Bali with its permanently pissed, loud and tattooed Aussie bogans and I'd prefer to stick my head in a microwave. Fortunately on this part of the trip we had pleasant company.

In addition to The Ruins these photos are of said pleasant company in acknowledgement of their contribution to making the journey from Tonle Sap down the Mekong even more worthwhile. Paul and Guru from Windsor in the UK, Pamela the somewhat mysterious Irish travel writer and Rome resident and Kiwis Graham and Vicki. Thanks for the company guys - it was a good time.
